Renovations of the UFO-shaped, Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland jeopardized acoustics for EuroBasket 2009.
Located in southern Poland, the 11,500-seat Spodek is among the better-known arenas in Europe. Its name translates as “saucer.” If aliens ever descend on Poland, they may well get confused and try to ascend by piloting the tiered seats of the UFO-shaped arena.
