Atlantic Design Show

Back from the design show and it was great fun. I want to thank all the readers who stopped by the booth to say hello, as well as all those non-readers (yet) who signed up to receive our announcements. The fun part was when Stephen Sywak and Adam Yeager stopped by to say hello. Our Circ video (http://www.entertainmentengineering.com/eetv/episode02.html) was playing and Steve pointed out all the placed where McLaren Engineering was involved in the show. Some cool stuff!
Bruce and I had a chance to talk with a lot of companies who are doing great things in the entertainment business as well as aerospace, medical, automation, etc. that our readers are interested in. I plan on contacting several companies: Intech, Harmonic Drive, Noren, Proto Mold, and others about their products.
One of the best things about walking the halls of a trade show are all the companies I "don't" recognize. I've been in this business a long time — first as an engineer then as a marketing director and then as an editor — and it's great to see new companies coming into the market year after year.
As for the economy, well, it didn't seem so worrisome at the show. There appeared to be a lot of traffic and a lot of happy people. Judging from what other companies were telling me, things appear to be on an upswing at the moment.
If anyone out there went to the show, let me know what you thought. —Terry
